Mary Sheets

Mary Sheets, age 63 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 29, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Davis Kurtz and Donna Pittman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Michael Kurtz and brother-in-law, Ron Harig.

Mary is survived by her three children, Michael C. (Erika) Sheets, Katherine (Eric) Leifermann, and Benjamin (Josie) Sheets; seven grandchildren, Coleman, Logan, Nathan, Gabriel, Everly, Lincoln, and Hope; seven siblings, Darlene Kurtz, Arthur (Joyce) Kurtz, Donna (John) Napper, Dave (Amy) Kurtz, Jeff (Pam) Kurtz, Debra Harig, Ed Kurtz; and sister-in-law, Lee Ann Kurtz. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.

Known as "Libby" to her siblings, she valued family and acts of service. If ever there was someone in need she extended a helping hand. Mary had impeccable manners and never spoke an unkind word. She will always be remembered for her heartfelt compliments, beautiful poetry, and handwritten thank you notes. Education was also important to Mary. After graduating from Aiken High School, she went on to attend Sinclair Community College. Her hard work, dedication, and high expectations were passed onto her children. She will forever be known as the Scrabble Champion to her children. Mary was devoted to her faith and her family, she will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.

Memorial Gathering will be held from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Star City Social located at 16 Water Street Miamisburg, Ohio 45342.
