II Corinthians 5:8. Mary Ruth Clarkston, (Tootsie to her close friends) was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on November 15, 1925 to George and Ethel Clark. She was preceded by her husband of 44 years, David C. Clarkston. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist church and served faithfully on the volunteer staff of the Gospel Mission, Inc. Survived by two sons, Ken, Chaplain/CEO of the Gospel Mission Inc. of Dayton and Terry who resides in Palm Springs, California, beloved daughter-in-law Sue, so proud of her two grandchildren, Timothy and wife Sonia and Kimberly and husband Reed, six great grandchildren, Marisa, Caleb, Emmalynne, Anastasia, Joshua, and Seth Clarkston, beloved brother Hugh and wife Phyllis, Harold, Sid and extended family, nieces, nephews Hoppy, Brenda, David, Nila, Lucky, Annie and Ed. Brothers and sister preceding her in death were Harold, Teddy and Francis. Viewing will be held Sunday, March 16, 5PM until 7PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio. Service will be held Monday, March 17th, 11AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1501 East Third Street, Dayton, Ohio. Interment at the Aley Cemetery, 4143 Kemp Rd. in Beavercreek next to her beloved husband.
