Mary Virginia Rawlins

Mary Virginia Rawlins, age 87, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017. She was born on March 21, 1930 in Pomroy, Ohio, to the late John and Naomi Sue Lapke.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Shumway; brother, Billy Young; sister, Betty Butcher; son, Rodney Shumway; & daughter, Brenda Cornwell.
Mary is survived by her husband, John Rawlins; son, Ronald (Cissy) Shumway; son-in-law, Tom Cornwell; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Shumway; numerous grandchildren; & 4 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 10 am to 11 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Funeral service will begin at 11 am. She will be laid to rest in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Mary's memory. To leave a special message for the family, please click on "Share Memories".
