Mary Lake McClay, 69, died October 12, 2021, at a Dayton, Ohio, hospital. A native of Scioto County, Mary was born February 7, 1952, and was the youngest child of Floyd P. and Mildred (Canter) McClay. She was a 1970 graduate of Northwest High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her long-time partner, Robert L. Lackey; three older brothers: Roger, Mark, and Dean McClay; aunts Inez and Janet Canter; a nephew, Phillip McClay; paternal grandparents, Stewart and Lake Erie (Shoemaker) McClay, and maternal grandparents, Smith and Mary (Snyder) Canter.
She is survived by her brother, John F. McClay, and sister, W. Ruth McClay Phipps; sisters-in-law, Faye (Spradlin) McClay, Joyce (Dunham) McClay, Loretta (Tackett) McClay, and Shirley (Harness) McClay; brother-in-law, Walter Phipps; McClay nephews and spouses: Rick and Becky, Randy and Gina, Ryan and Bridget, Paul and Jodi, Michael, and David and Sarah; nieces and spouses: Marcia (McClay) and Jason Hall, Paula (McClay) and Sean White, Darissa Phipps and Jerry Palmisano, and Jenessa (Phipps) and Brian Krause; nieces-in-law, Cindy Callahan and Cynthia McClay; and several grand- and great-grand nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a service at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer-Beavercreek Chapel with graveside services to follow at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek, Ohio.
