Mary Lummer

LUMMER, Mary Jane, age 85, in the early morning of July 3, 2014, passed away peacefully of natural causes. Mary Jane was being visited and comforted by family members at Hospice of Dayton at the time of her passing.

She was born in the town of St. Bernard in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 5, 1928 to the late Mildred and John Stoltz. Mary Jane graduated from Roger Bacon High School and received her nursing degree from St. Deaconess. She was also a phone operator on switch boards and retired from Delco Products in 1988 after working there for 22 years. Mary Jane was fortunate enough to meet the love of her life at Delco Products, and later on marry Donnie D. Lummer on November 24, 1973.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her oldest son, Thomas "Tommy Toes" Cassidy, oldest grandson, Brian Cassidy, and sister, Cecilia Symmonds.

Mary Jane is survived by husband, Donnie; children, Mary Pat, Mark, David, Kathleen and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Sarah and daughter, Jordyn, Jennifer and husband, Daniel, Leila, Amanda and sons, Justin and Jase, Melissa, Jonathon, Christopher, Katrina and boyfriend, Kristopher, Maslin, and Kyle. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews from the Cincinnati area.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made out to Hospice of Dayton.

A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, followed by a funeral service 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek.
