Mary Lou Guthrie

Mary Lou Guthrie, age 76 of Beavercreek, OH went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born May 6, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio to Edward and Dorothy (Vitkovitz) Babinchak. Mary Lou married William Guthrie in October 3, 1992 in Middleburg Heights, OH.

Mary Lou was a Contract Specialist at NASA Glenn Research Center retiring in 2007. She and her husband Bill were avid travelers who went on 75 cruises throughout the world. Earlier in their married life they enjoyed golfing and Mary Lou participated in a myriad of activities in The Villages, Florida. Mary Lou always enjoyed the latest and greatest high-tech gadgets and was seen as a tech guru amongst her friends. She most recently developed a love of jigsaw puzzles. Mary Lou's travels often included visits with her friends Mickey and Minnie. She recently moved to Beavercreek to be closer to her family. Mary Lou loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bill; sons, Tony (Anne) Herrmann and Rick (Julie Heenan) Herrmann; daughter, Heather J. (Thomas) Bridgman; three step children, Bill Guthrie, Jr., Laura Mizisin and David Guthrie; five grandchildren, Kristen (Eric) Fink, Joshua Herrmann, Aaron Herrmann, Mia Bridgman and Tommy Bridgman; a brother, Thomas Babinchak; two sisters, Bonnye (Ryan Hagler) Albrecht and Loree (Steve Matuszak) Kuttler; and numerous family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 22 at 10:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Drive, Dayton, OH 45420. An Internment will be held in Cleveland, OH at a later date.
