Mary Ellen Long, age 82 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 9, 1938 in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Polly Long.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents who raised her, George W. & Lola Long; siblings, Jean Stratton, Delores Payner, Linda Adams, Helen Kawasaki and Walter Roy Long, Jr..
Mary is survived by her life partner, Linda Gould; nieces, Sherry Lynn Grimmett, Mindy Eichstaedt; nephews, Roy "T-Bone" Stratton, Scott Stratton, Jeffery John Stratton; dear friends, Sue & Jim Jones; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Mary retired from Elder-Beerman after 28 years of employment. She enjoyed collecting an array of different items and she loved decorating, specifically at Christmastime.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 12 pm to 1 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A Memorial Service will begin at 1 pm.
