Mary Ann Kitchen, age 88, of Washington Township, passed away on July 8, 2021 at BeeHive Homes of Springboro. Mary Ann was born in Hurley, WI on March 13, 1933 to John and Florence (DeMeio) Bertorello. On October 15, 1955 she married Richard Kitchen in Milwaukee, WI. Together they shared 55 years of marriage until Richard's passing in 2010.

A true care-giver at heart, Mary Ann spent over 58 years as a registered nurse serving her community while being employed by Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. Christmas was Mary Ann's favorite holiday of the year. Her Christmas season lasted from December 26th through December 25th! She would purchase and make gifts for everyone she met, personally wrapping the hundreds of items to fill the individual gift baskets. For this reason she was known to be a prolific shopper. Over the years, Mary Ann would crochet hundreds of baby blankets to provide the newborns at the hospital. She was a member of Italian American's Club in Springfield, a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Springfield and St. Henry's Catholic Church in Dayton. Her greatest joy in life, was spending time with her family and many friends and taking trips to England and Italy. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Robert) Colton of Washington Twshp, Barbara Jenkins of Pensacola, FL; son, Michael (Katherine) Kitchen of Franklin; daughter-in-law, Candace Kitchen of Springboro; granddaughters, Jessica and Samantha Jenkins and Emma Kitchen and Logan Kitchen; grandsons, Ryan and Anthony Kitchen, Warren Kitchen , Kyle and Casey, Colton; great-grandson, Jordan Jenkins; sisters, Carolyn Bertorello and Marcia (Dave) Maule both of Milwaukee, WI; and brother, Fred (Pat) Bertorello of Wakefield, MI.
