Mary Ellen Kiefer, 65, of Dayton, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at Vienna Springs. She was born February 8th, 1958 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Evelyn (Weaver) Shepherd.
Mary was a 1976 honor graduate of Northridge High School and MCCTC (legal steno program). She worked for the USAF, WPAFB, OH, for 16 years as a secretary. Mary loved the Lord and her faith was very important to her. She was a member of Fairhaven Church in Centerville and enjoyed serving in many ministries. She was a great cook, an avid reader, and loved art/ home decorating.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vienna Springs and Hospice of Dayton for their wonderful care.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Paul Kiefer in 2016.
She was a devoted wife, sister, and friend. Mary is survived by her loving family, including her sister, Beverly (Steve) Ney; nieces, Crystal Ney and Amanda Ney; two great-nieces, Harley and Rowan Wilbur; and many other extended family members and friends.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Monday, February 20th, 2023 from 12:00noon to 2:00PM at Newcomer Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Dayton, OH 45459). A Celebration of Life will immediately follow beginning at 2:00PM.
