Mary Kay Spirito

Mary Kay "Mic" Spirito, age 62 of Kettering, passed away November 19, 2014. She was born October 15, 1952 in Dayton to the late Thomas and Phyllis Kussman. In addition to her parents, Mic was preceded in death by her sister, Patti Kolbe.

Mic is survived by her husband, John Spirito; son, Tom (Rebekah) Young; step-sons: Michael (Melissa) Spirito and John Spirito; grandchildren: Anna, Lena and Joel Young; step-grandchildren: Sam, Sophie, Kayden, Joey and Tiffany; sisters: Sue (Dan) Reichert and Peggy (Greg) Braner; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mic graduated from Alter High School in 1971 and from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1973. She began her career as an Emergency Room and Critical Care Nurse. She was later a Home Healthcare and Hospice Nurse for Hancock County, Maine.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 pm. Contributions may be made in Mic's memory to Heartland Hospice Care.
