Mary Jean Bauman, age 89 of Kettering, passed away March 24, 2022. She was born August 22, 1932 in Tiffin, OH to the late William "Bill" and Mary (nee Lonsway) Hunt. In addition to her parents, Mary Jean was preceded in death by siblings, Tom (wife, Bert), Bill and Charles Hunt.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Robert "Bob" Bauman; children, Renee (Pete) Gilstrap, David (Kathy) Bauman and Connie (Mark) Lohmeier; grandchildren, Rachelle Reed, Julia Reed, Spencer Lohmeier, Annie Lohmeier, Grant Lohmeier, Kristin (Nick) Goessl, Candice (Leon) Land, Colleen Walsh, Jason Gilstrap and Lee (Stacy) Jones; great-grandchildren, Aidan Goessl, Abigail Jones, Hunter Land, Alex Jones, Brendan Goessl, Payton Land, Andrew Jones, and Amber Jones; brother, John (Pat) Hunt; close family friend, Ken Reed and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Mary Jean was an avid and very good bridge player which she took very seriously. You could find her playing Bridge 4-5 times a week. She enjoyed cooking for her family but was well known for her baking skills. A few of Mary Jean's passions included, traveling with Bob, seeking "treasures" at garage sales and, most importantly, loving and adoring her family.
Family will receive guests from 5-7 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 4 at the Church of the Incarnation (7415 Far Hills Dr., Centerville, 45459) with Fr. Pat Sloneker, Celebrant. Interment will follow the Mass at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens, Springboro.
