Mary Lena Hendricks

Mary Lena Hendricks, age 93, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Stonespring in Vandalia, OH. She was born in Taffy, KY, on September 27, 1928, the youngest child of Elijah Coleman and Judith Ann (Vawter) Hendricks. After spending most of her adult life in Ft. Wayne, IN, where she worked at various jobs, she moved to Dayton, OH, in 1991. She was a member of the Englewood Church of Christ at the time of her death.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by three husbands; brother, Joseph Hendricks; sister, Nancy Starns; one grandchild, Christopher Hensley; two nephews: John Hendricks and Wayne Starns; and one niece, Betty Gabriel. She is survived by her son, James D. (Rosalee) Hensley Sr; daughter, Karen (Wayne) Walker; six grandchildren: James D. Hensley, Jr., Shonna Kirkpatrick, Judy Hensley, Michael Hensley, Mark D. Walker, and Jeremy P. Walker; four great-grandchildren; five nieces: Jane Hendricks, Mary Casey, Judy Wright, Carol Frakes, and Becky Hadden; and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May12, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Englewood Church of Christ 1130 S. Union Blvd. Englewood, Ohio. Burial will follow at a later date at the Christy Chapel Cemetery.
