It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Caroline Franks, a beloved member of the Beavercreek, OH community, on February 9, 2025, at the Hospice of Dayton. Born on April 23, 1963, in Dayton, OH, Mary was a beacon of kindness and strength throughout her life.
Mary graduated from Xenia High School in 1982 and later pursued her passion for helping others by obtaining a degree in medical assistance from Miami Jacob’s in 1993. Known for her determination and strong work ethic, Mary was not only a dedicated professional but also a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Born to Elizabeth Snyder and Warren Ragar, Mary was raised by her foster parents Rissa and Dale Jeffers before being lovingly adopted by Sandra and Ralph Wells. Her nurturing nature was reflected in her roles as a devoted wife to Mark Franks, a cherished mother to Jessica "Jaycee" Peterson (Travis) and Jeremy Spradlin, and an adoring grandmother to Laila and Tucker Peterson.
Mary was the dear sister of Valerie Jeffers, Liberty Wells, Karen Jeffers, Vicki Asmus, Melissa Neff (Dwight), Nancy, and Linda. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Laurasen, Garrett, Katelyn, and Ryan.
Her vibrant spirit was evident in her love for cheering on her children and grandchildren, whether it was at soccer games, baseball matches, or during marching band performances and drama productions. She was an ardent fan of the Dallas Cowboys and found great joy in traveling, especially to the beach. Mary also had a passion for baking and was known to dance to the tunes of Cher with an infectious cheerfulness.
Mary’s life was a testament to her unwavering love and kindness, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and joy continues to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
In remembering Mary, we celebrate a life richly lived and deeply cherished. Mary’s warmth and love have left an indelible mark on all those around her. Rest in peace, Mary (Mom), knowing you were deeply loved and will be dearly remembered.
