Mary F. Hammond, age 85, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012.
She was born Aug. 3, 1926 in Somerset, KY. The daughter of James & Frances Taylor.
She was an employee of Elder Beerman South Town. She was a member of First Baptist Church of W.C.
Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gaither L. Hammond and three brothers, one sister, one son, James Hammond and one grandson, James Jr.
She is survived by one daughter Brenda (Brian) Halk, one daughter-in-law Linda Hammond, five grandchildren Julie (Jason) Dunbar, Christie Hammond, Jamie Hammond, all of Texas-Kim Beckett & Robert Beckett, of Dayton, three great-grandchildren of Dayton, one sister of Virginia, and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 6-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439). The Service will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church W.C. or the charity of your choice.
