Mary "Mammy" Dagg, 56, died in her Kettering, Ohio home Thursday, March 28th, 2013. She has rejoined the man who was 'her world," Jim Dagg, her late husband of sixteen years, and is also preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jeannette Vadnais of Beavercreek, and her brother John Vadnais of Toledo.
A graduate of the University of Dayton and Wright State University, Mary enjoyed her time as a historical reenactor and interpreter, in addition to dragging her children to nearly every battlefield in America on "vacations."
She is survived by her loving children, Jim Dagg of Kettering, Ohio and Pierrette Dagg of Ferndale, Michigan, in addition to brothers and sisters William Vadnais of Xenia, Gene (Theresa) of Miamisburg, Kim Vadnais of Toledo, Bobbie (Alan) Wright of Washington, DC, Nancy (Brad) Greek of Quincy and Joseph Vadnais of Kettering.
As a mother to Pierrette, Jim and myriad neighborhood kids, Mary counseled through hard times that "Life is an adventure." The Mammy's send-off for her next adventure begins with services at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 1:00-3:00pm.
