Mary Frances Clifford, 74, of Centerville, passed away on December 29, 2018.
She was born September 12, 1944 to Carl and Juanita (Heeg) Clifford in Springfield, OH.
Mary graduated from Wright State with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in English Literature.
She worked as a Logistics Analyst for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for over 30 years.
Mary was an English professor at Sinclair and Wright State both during and after her tenure with WPAFB.
She was an avid reader, a patron of the Arts and enjoyed painting, music, theater, and all forms of artistic pleasure.
Mary enjoyed outdoor exercise, completing two marathons, many half marathons, and enjoyed cycling and walking in retirement.
Her favorite place was the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Mary vacationed there many times prior to purchasing a home in her early retirement and living on the beach for several years.
Most of all, Mary was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be forever in our hearts.
Mary is survived by her loving Children, Craig Potter and Kristin (Anthony) Taphorn; Grandchildren, Madaline, Nathaniel, Kaleb, and Lacianne; Sister, Jane Clifford; Ex-Husband, Layman Potter, Jr.; and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Carl and Juanita Clifford; and Sister, Judith Krier.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 7, 2019, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer South Chapel in Kettering.
Funeral services will follow at 7:00 pm.
Memorials are suggested in the name of Mary Clifford to either the Arts Center Foundation, or Culture Works.
