Mary Kathryn Burtner

Mary Kathryn Burtner, age 71, of Dayton Ohio, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on January 23, 1951 to the late Wilbur and Laberta Stump. In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Marla Stump and nephew, Nicholas Koleff.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Robert Burtner; son, James (Gina) Furlow, and daughter, Kathryn (Daniel) Albers; grandchildren: Preston Furlow and Wyatt Albers; sisters: Linda (Robert) Dils, Darlene Stump, and Terry Tiller; and many other family and friends.

Mary and Robert were married for 25 years, which Robert expressed were the best 25 years of his life. She was a gifted musician and quilter. Mary loved being outdoors and spending time boating. Her greatest love was her family and friends. Mary was full of determination, she fought a long 12 year battle with lung cancer and is now free of pain. Her family would like to thank Martina and the other care givers at Day City Hospice for the care they gave her.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on June 1, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. A graveside service will follow at Dayton Memorial Park at 12:30, where Mary will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Mary's memory to Saint Vincent DePaul.
