Mary Catherine Brophy, 83, passed away on June 9, 2024. Loving mother of Maureen (Martin) Sloan, Kathleen A. (Larry Kralovic) Gibson and Christine (Steve) Barhorst, cherished grandmother of Cameron Sloan, Colin Sloan, Grant Gibson, Lauren Barhorst and Kevin Barhorst, adored sister of Joe (Antoinette) Letavec, and Anna Mae (John) Makela and beloved sister in law of Monica Letavec.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents Julia and Stephen Letavec and brother Steve Letavec.
Mary was born on March 16, 1941 in Pennsylvania. She attended California University in PA where she graduated with a degree in education. She worked as a teacher before she dedicated her life to raise her family.
She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, playing games and just spending time with family in general. She also enjoyed doing some light shopping on QVC.
Public visitation will be held at St. Helen's Parish (605 Granville Pl, Dayton, OH 45431) on Monday June 17, 2024 at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Mary's memory to St. Helen's Parish.
