Mary C. Bassman

Mary C. "Kay" Bassman, age 92, of Dayton, passed away on November 26, 2023. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 5, 1931, and grew up in St. Joseph Orphanage, in Cincinnati, until the age of 16.

She was preceded in death by her former husband, Earl Bassman and her son, Curt Bassman.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Sharon (the late Michael) Geer; son, Scott (Debra) Bassman; grandchildren, Lee, Dan, Dave, Erica and De'Ande; great grandchildren, Lucca, Lyla, and many other great grandchildren; dear friends, the Hancock Family, the Malas Family and the Holycross Family; as well as many special friends and extended family members.

Mary had numerous careers, including House/Dog Sitter and Caterer. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm, on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where a Celebration of her Life will begin at 3:00pm.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
