Mary Barbara Helton, age 68, of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday August 2, 2011. She was born on November 26, 1942 to the late Richard and Madeline Grundish. In addition to her parents, Barb is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Billie Helton; and her sister, Karen Carter.
Barb is survived by her three children, Chuck (Angela) Helton, Julie (Donald) Erickson and Michael (Leigh) Helton; ten grandchildren, Casey (Chad) Barner, Colleen (Mark) Helton, Billie Helton, Meghan (Brad) Aytes, Stephanie Conatser, Jessica Conatser, Leigh Ann Helton, John Helton, Chuck Helton and Mike Helton; seven great grandchildren, Kiera, Madyson, Markie Sydney, Kayla, Haylei and Carlie; four brothers, Tom, Rick, Mike and John Grundish; special friend Ingrid Wheeler; and many other family members and good friends.
Barb was a great supporter of the Riders Motorcycle Club of Ohio, and participated in many of the group's activities throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by the members of the Club and their families. The family would like to express their gratitude to the physicians and staff at the Dialysis Center of Dayton (East) for the care they provided to Barb over the past 11 years, and also to the staff at The Hospice of Dayton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 13, 2011 at 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Rd, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior, from 9:30-10:30 am. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery.
