Mary Anne Beach, age 86, formerly of Jamestown, NY, died on May 31, 2016 with her family at her bedside. She was born November 26, 1929 in Charlotte Center, NY, the youngest daughter of the late Charles B. and Grace Wilcox Harper.
Mary Anne was a 1947 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School. Mary Anne was employed at Marlin Rockwell Corp, Chautauqua National Bank and Jamestown Malleable Iron Corp and was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker. Mary Anne was a member and pianist of Charlotte Center United Methodist church and various other Methodist Churches. She was a volunteer at the Winthrop library and Jamestown General Hospital. Mary Anne performed musical programs at convalescent homes with her children, husband, and sister, Lucille Marsh, her entire adult life. Mary Anne loved her kitties and the many stray cats she adopted. She considered them her "little people in fur coats". She was very interested in her children and their activities. Mary Anne was involved with Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, 4-H, and Sunday School. Always a child at heart, Mary Anne was often seen riding her little Huffy bicycle with her children.
On May 3, 1958 Mary Anne Harper was married to Cornell Beach of Jamestown, NY and they have three children: Michael C. Beach (Julie) of Framingham, MA, Janis Torchia (John) of Tucson, AZ and Susan Moulton (Stanley) of Beavercreek, OH. They also have six grand-children: Lance, Michael and Luke Moulton, Nichole and Brendon Langless, and Sabrina Beach; as well as four great grand-children, Alexis Langless, and Zachary, Caleb and Logan Moulton. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Cornell Beach, her brother, Leo Harper, and sisters Helen Pearson and Elsie Tanner. She is survived by her sister Lucille Marsh.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432.
