Marvin S. Watkins

Marvin Sim Watkins, age 70 of Moraine, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by family and friends. He was born April 17, 1953 in Athens, Tennessee to the late Sam and Oma Watkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in law, Harry and Faye Haas.

Marvin is survived by his loving wife of over 51 years, Brenda (Haas) Watkins; two children, James Watkins and Kaylena (Andrew) Lindon; one grandson, Drew Lindon; two sisters, Bertha Napier and Kathy Crawford; two brother-in-laws, Lonnie Napier and Calvin Crawford. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Marvin was a graduate of Fairmont West High School and retiree of Bell Optical Laboratory where he was a Licensed Optician and served as a Quality Control Manager. In his spare time he could be found spending time with his family and friends, camping, watching NASCAR, and cherishing time with his loving grandson Drew.

Visitation will be 10AM - 11AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, South Chapel, located at 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio and will be officiated by Justin Owens assisted by Dale Napier immediately following visitation on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, located at 401 North Miami Ave, West Carrollton, Ohio 45449.
