Marvin D. Thomas

Marvin D. Thomas "Marty", age 63, of Sugarcreek Township, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on April 30, 2023.

He was born September 7, 1959 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to Bill and Yvonne (Eagle) Thomas. Marty retired from TJ Maxx after 25 years and then went on to work for Mike Gardner at Gardner Restoration for a number of years. He was a Worship Pastor, Deacon, and Church Clerk at Miami Shores Baptist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, his brother Ken Thomas, and his nephew Joshua.

Marty is survived by his mother Yvonne (Eagle) Thomas; sister-in-law Cheryl Thomas; niece, Kiristen Thomas; nephews, Cory (Ashley) Thomas, Matt (Mallorie) Thomas; great nieces and great nephews, Abby, Lilly, Mason, Nevaeh, Kayden, Claire, Ella and Blake. He is also survived by his aunt Glenda and her family, many cousins and loved ones, along with many friends and his church family.

Marty always put everyone's feelings before his own. He was a kind and generous person and will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 10:30 am until time of the Celebration of Marty's Life at 12:00 pm, at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., with Pastor Doug Surber officiating.
