ORR, Marvin
Age 71, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital on August 3, 2014.
He was born on March 9, 1943 in Mount Olivet, KY; joining the U.S. Marines in 1961 serving proudly for 10 years. During the Vietnam War, Marvin became the recipient of the Purple Heart for his bravery and injuries. Marvin continued his dedicated military career entering the U.S. Air Force in 1971 retiring in 1984. He continued to serve and work as a civil engineer at WPAFB.
Marvin's greatest passion was proudly serving his country and spending time with his family and friends. Marvin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jewell D. Orr (Gray); daughter, Rhonda (Donald) Weihrauch; sons, Christopher D. Orr and Brian C. Orr; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 7 brothers; and many loving family members and friends.
Marvin is preceded in death by his brother, Emmett Orr and his parents, Garrett T. and Dorothy B. Orr.
A Celebration of Marvin's life will be held at New Life Worship Center, 3350 Benchwood Rd., Dayton OH on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Dayton National Cemetery with Honors.
