Martin Jerome Sibert born July 13, 1960 departed this life on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He is preceded in death by his mother Leona Mattison Sibert Cottrell, stepfather Fred Cottrell Jr, and son Montay Sibert.
On March 20, 2005 Jerome (family affectionately called him) committed his life to the Lord when he joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church by water baptismal under the direction of Pastor Leamon Long.
Jerome loved life to its fullest. He wore a smile at all times. Martin was a trusted and loyal friend, loving father, and never met a stranger. His children were his pride and joy, so much so that he was very, very particular as to who could babysit them.
Jerome sustained a serious head trauma injury in 1986. He survived all the medical odds. By the Grace of God and his mother's love and will did he have a lot of great years. He will be most remembered for never letting his disability take away his zest for life. He remained a brave soldier until the very end.
Jerome leaves behind two sons Martin Carr and Marvin Hunter, daughter Tamisha Sibert; brother Roger (Connie) Sibert, devoted sister Shirley Sibert, special nieces and nephews LaMarc (Melissa) Sibert, JaMaal (April) Sibert, Bryanna Sibert, Chamella Sibert, Constance Sibert, Tia (Saidou) Ba, very best friend Donyae McCall, and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Boulevard, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton.
