Martin Benjamin Zajovits, age 97 of Dayton, passed Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Dayton V.A. Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1918 in Dayton, Ohio son of Martin and Mary Zajovits.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ethel of 63 years, a brother, Richard, and a daughter, Barbara Ann.
Martin is survived by his five children, Anthony, Gary (Pamela), David, Martin, and Elizabeth Zajovits; three grandchildren, Samantha, Katelyn, and Sarah. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Martin attended Chaminade High School and was a WWII Vet. He worked at NCR and Alter High School. He was a member of the VFW post 9927 and Dayton Magyar Club. Martin enjoyed big band music, gardening, but his biggest love was dancing with his wife Ethel. Martin never met a stranger.
The family would like to thank the staff at the VA Hospital and VA Hospice.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen Parish (1114 Troy Street, Dayton, Ohio). Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439).
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the VA Hospice.
