Martha Tannehill

Martha E. Tannehill, age 95 of Dayton, OH, passed away March 24, 2012. She was born August 20, 1916 in Bedford, IN to the late John and Elizabeth Tannehill. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Hovey Lyons, Daniel Lyons, Alvin Lyons, Minnie Tannehill Cristenberry and Henrietta Tannehill Hapeman.

Martha is survived by her niece, Thyra Hapeman; great-nieces: Khristin Aumann and Heather Morales; great-great-nieces and nephews: Alex, Breanna, Tristan, Katie, Brayden and Mikayla.

Martha retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where she worked as a Medical Records Librarian for more than 35 years and was a Medical Secretary to many doctors in the Dayton area. After retirement, Martha was a loving "Nanny Maw" to her extended family: Scottie, Randy, Kevin, Jason, Bo, Bre, Rachel and Alex. Martha was a very caring, loving and giving woman to everyone she met. She was a member of Wright View Church of the Nazarene in Fairborn.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where family and friends may gather for 2 hours prior to the service, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial will take place at Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford, IN. Contributions may be made in Martha's memory to The Hospice of Dayton or Wright View Church of the Nazarene.
