Martha Jo Lee

Lee, Martha Jo, Marty, age 73, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Monday, September
25, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital.

Marty graduated in 1961 from Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio. She graduated in 1964 from the Miami Valley School of Nursing as a registered nurse. Following graduation, she worked at Miami Valley Hospital, for Dr. Roger Moritz and his private practice, and later as a recovery room nurse at Children's Medical Center in Dayton. Additionally, she volunteered her nursing skills in the Beavercreek City Schools on occasion, as well.

Marty was a devoted wife and mother who loved spending time with her family in any way
she could. She enjoyed taking trips to the beach with her husband and children and
collecting seashells as she strolled along the sand. While at home, she drove her kids to
soccer, cheerleading, hockey, and work and would sit through every game and event. She
did not want to miss a thing. When her grandchildren arrived, she took great pride in each
of them. Finally, Marty had a servant heart in both the home and while at work as a nurse.
Early on, she enjoyed working with TWIG's (Together With Important Goals) through the
Children's Hospital of Dayton to assist with a wide variety of fundraising projects. Not only
did she enjoy taking care of others in life, but she left her giving spirit behind through
organ donation.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Christeen Barry; her aunt, June
Chapman; her niece Beth Ann Barry; and her nephew Jeff Lee.

Marty is survived by her husband, Norman J. Lee; her children, Chris Lee and his wife, April,
Alison Brown and her husband, Scott, Mandy Lee and her husband, Eric Smith, and Patrick
Lee and his wife, Kim; her adopted family (caregivers), Melissa Miner, Brandy Claybaugh,
Terra Claybaugh, and Kim Hall; her grandchildren, Ashlee Janning and her husband, Alex,
Adam Lee, Austin Brown, Ellie Lee, Emma Lee, Errin Lee, Tyler Brown, Dominik Lee, Stella
Lee, Anna Brown, Oliver Smith, and Marley Smith; and her great-grandchildren Briella
Eastman, Jackson Eastman, and Zeeri Janning; her brother, William E. Barry and his wife,
Linda from Lima, Ohio; Johnnie Chapman, her aunt, from Indiana, Pennsylvania; her
brothers and sisters-in law, Richard and Eleanor Lee from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina and
Joseph and Carolyn Thomas from Tazewell, Tennessee; her nieces, Darla Jo Barry and
Jennifer Thomas; her nephews, Scott Lee, Michael Lee, Joseph Thomas, Jr., William Barry,
and Joseph Barry.

Family will greet friends from 9:00-11:00 a.m. On Saturday, September 30, 2017 at
Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. The funeral service and burial will
immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. The burial will take place at Mt. Zion Park
Cemetery in Beavercreek, Ohio.
