Martha H. Dennis

Martha H. Dennis, age 81 of Dayton, reunited with her husband, William on July 7, 2022. She was born March 21, 1941 in Portsmouth, OH to the late Cecil and Mary (Compton) Sexton. In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by her three sons, Leon Fisher, Michael Fisher and Gary Dennis; grandson, Michael Lee Fisher.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Charles) Jobe and Tammy Dennis; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; sister, Mary Shepherd and brother, Cecil Sexton; many extended family and dear friends.

Martha was a graduate from Stivers high school in 1959. Then she started roller derby and sock hops in her teenage years. She then became a mother of five children and was married for 27 years. She started her career with Dayton Public schools as a secretary for Ruskin Elementary till 2005. Martha loved being a member of AMVETS Post 9 plus the AMVETS Post 24 for many years where she carried multiple titles. She was also a member of the North Dayton Anglers Club where she loved to turkey shoot and fish. She also enjoyed playing bingo, needle pointing, dancing in playing video games. Martha loved being around family having cookouts and get together's. Martha was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive guests from 9-11 AM on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439). A funeral service with a presentation by AmVets Auxiliary Post 24 will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Bellbrook Cemetery, Bellbrook, OH.
