Martha Clay (Tichenor) (Sells) Brown, age 82, of Kettering, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 05, 2011. She was born on December 29, 1928 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky to the late Walter Dudley Tichenor and Hazel Allen (Roper) Tichenor.
Martha married Virgil C. Brown on November 24, 1968. She was an elementary school teacher and a champion of her family. She was a lover of music, a good story and a great laugh, and she never met a stranger!
Martha is survived by her husband of 42 years, Virgil C. Brown; sons Mark Allen Sells (Judy), Cecil Leigh Sells (Debbie), Russell Bennett Brown (Rhonda) and daughters Carolyn Sue (Brown) (Hamby) Klingaman (Mark), and Shelly Margaret (Sells) Wallace (David), grandchildren Benjamin Sells, Melissa Dapore, Paul Hamby, Laura, Rebecca and Susan Wallace, and Ainsley and Paige Brown, and great grandchildren Caden and Bryson Hamby, sister Rachel Southard, brother Joseph Tichenor and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday July 9, 2011 from 1pm to 2pm with funeral service starting at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439).
