HAKES, Marlenia D.
age 69 of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Sycamore Hospital. Marlenia was born January 23, 1937, the daughter of Vernon and Edna Newman. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Hakes; children, James (Ernee) Hakes, Kathryn Hakes, and Steven (Cheri) Hakes; brothers, William (Ruth) Newman and Jerome (Mary) Newman; grandson, James Hakes. Marlenia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jack Newman. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Dr. Barry Jude will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Marlenia's memory to the First Baptist Church of Kettering Building Fund.
