Marlene F. Loomis, age 79 of Beavercreek, OH passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. She was born September 27, 1940 in Steubenville, Ohio to John and Elsa (Miller) Bartels. Marlene married Leon "Cliff" Loomis on July 14, 1960 in Frostburg, Maryland.
Marlene graduated from Jefferson Union High School in 1958 and received her Associates Degree from Carnegie College in 1959. She was a Medical Laboratory Technician at Dillie Labs in Dayton and later became an Administrative Assistant at the Air Force Museum. Marlene sang for many years with the Gem City Sweet Adelines Chorus. She was an avid sports fan and loved her Duke Blue Devils, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Indians and Atlanta Braves. Marlene loved animals, especially her dachshunds; Heidi, Benji, Duke and Annie Mae. She enjoyed cheering on her kids and grandkids in various activities, including Beavercreek football, baseball, basketball, marching band and soccer, and was a long time Beavercreek basketball season ticket holder. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Marlene is survived by a son, Eric (Joy) Loomis; a daughter, Mindy (Andy) Loose; four grandchildren, Dustin (Audra) Loomis, Alex (Meghan) Loomis, Megan Loose and Brian Loose; a great grandchild, Connor Loomis; a brother, Kenneth Bartels; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Cliff; her parents; a sister, Barbara Jauss and her husband Norman; a sister in law, Opal Bartels.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staffs of Traditions of Beavercreek and Kingston of Miamisburg for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Sheridan, Dana and Debbie.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm at the funeral home with Pastor David Faile officiating. Burial to follow the services at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, OH.
