Marlene Gloria "Ma" Kaufman, age 76, of Dayton, passed away on March 12, 2021. She was born in Beacon, New York, on April 18, 1944, the daughter of the late Marcus and Bessie Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, and father of her children, Raoul "PT" P. Feris of Poughkeepsie, New York; her parents; her siblings, Mary Lee, Joan Harper and Timmy Hasbrouck; and her niece, Michelle Moates.
Marlene is survived by her loving children, Melissa Kaufman and Aaron Kaufman; dear friend, Penny Davis; grandchildren, Kierra Kaufman, Kyle Kaufman, Kaitlyn Kaufman, Leah Kaufman and Lily Hackett; siblings, Flora (Fae) Kaufman, Antoinette (Toni) Orfield, Robert Hasbrouck and Jean May; nieces, Stephanie Fletcher and Jennifer Ettayea; nephews, Christopher Turner, Michael Lee and Matthew Moates; and many other loving extended family and friends.
Marlene was a graduate of the Hudson River School of Nursing, class of 1972, in Poughkeepsie, New York. After graduation, she was employed at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York, where she worked as a Registered Nurse and a Charge Nurse on the Mental Health Unit until her retirement in 2007. She was a loving and caring nurse to many during her 35 years with St. Francis Hospital. In her free time, Marlene enjoyed gardening, being in nature, yard sale-ing, collecting antiques, reading, animals and spending time with her family. She was one in a million and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held privately by the family. She will be buried in Union Cemetery of Lloyd in Highland, NY.
