Mark Jeffrey Stewart, age 69, of Miamisburg, was a 1968 graduate of West Carrollton High School where he played in both the concert and marching bands under the direction of Harry Haggerty. He was also a member of the Pirate Varsity Football team.
His formal education included LeTourneau College in Texas, and Sinclair Community College where he completed his apprenticeship and earned his Associate degree.
Mark was drafted into the US Army in 1970 where he faithfully fulfilled his duties.
After his honorable discharge in 1972 he returned to Dayton where he became a machine repairman and worked for General Motors for over 30 years until his retirement. He continued in his career at local companies including Millat Industries.
Mark was a founding member of the Centerville Grace Brethren Church where he faithfully attended and served throughout the years.
Mark enjoyed a wide range of interests, NASCAR, shooting pool with his buddies, bingo, lunch with his friends, Bible study and alumni activities.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Mark are his father, Wallace Stewart, mother, Marilyn Stewart, and brother-in-law, Mike McGuire.
Loved ones that will miss Mark until they meet again are the love of his life, Tina, his wife of 46 years; his daughter, Amy (Adam) Hazlett of Denver, CO and their sons, Andrew, Joshua, Benjamin and Daniel, his daughter, Angela (Owen) Haines of Kettering and their children, Kaylee and Michael. He will also be missed by his sisters, Kathy (Mike) McGuire, Sue (Leonel) Moran, and Cindy (Rich) Wroughton, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mark passed into the presence of his Savior peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 2nd due to complications from cancer. He will be remembered as a great guy with a rich sense of humor and as a faithful Christian who loved and deeply cared for his family.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:30pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Centerville Grace Church, 410 E. Social Row Rd., Centerville. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Centerville Grace Church. Mark will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
