Mark William Rickert, age 71 of Centerville, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022. He was born August 5, 1951 in Huntington, Indiana, the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Rickert.
Mark graduated from Adrian College majoring in mathematics and political science. While in college, he met Marylou Lepping. They married in 1973 and moved to Toledo, Ohio where Mark graduated from University of Toledo College of Law with his JD degree. Mark and Marylou spent 12 years in Rochester, New York, where his two daughters were born. Mark moved his family to Centerville, Ohio in 1988 when he began his 28 years as an employee of Lexis/Nexis, focused on building and educating users on online tax law libraries. After Marylou's passing in 2009, Mark found new love in his life and married Ginny in 2014.
Mark was larger than life. Over the years he played basketball and golf and coached his daughters in sports. He loved trivia nights, Ohio football teams, dinner with the guys, playing cards, fishing, camping and finding the best deal on everything.
Mark is survived by his wife of 8 years, Virginia "Ginny;" daughters, Michele (John) Borns, Rebecca (Abigail) Rickert; grandsons William, Levi and Wyatt; sisters Janice (Carolyn) and Beth; as well as numerous loving family members and many friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Marylou.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4-7 pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church (6430 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45459). A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 am, in the same location, followed by a luncheon at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark's memory can be made to the Epiphany Lutheran Drama Ministry or Habitat for Humanity.
