Mark S. Combs, Sr.

Mark S. Combs Sr., age 65 of Dayton, passed away on March 16, 2024. He was born on December 27, 1958, in Dayton to the late Homer and Lillian (Francis) Combs. In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Sill, Sandy Holdcraft, Robert Combs, and Phillip Combs.

Mark is survived by his son, Mark Combs Jr.; his siblings, Fred Combs, Mike Combs, and Pat Combs; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

Mark served his country with honor in the U.S. Army. A man of strong convictions, he possessed a passionate political spirit and relished engaging in spirited debates with anyone willing to listen. Mark's unwavering commitment to his beliefs was matched only by his boundless compassion and selflessness. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Beyond his spirited political discussions, Mark found solace in the beauty of nature, often spending peaceful moments outdoors, soaking in the serenity of the world around him. Mark's loyalty and love for his family were unparalleled, and he treasured every moment spent with his beloved son, Mark Jr.

Mark will be remembered for his kind heart, loyalty, and willingness to stand up for what he believed in. His legacy of compassion and generosity will continue to inspire all fortunate enough to know him.

In honoring Mark's memory, let us carry forward his spirit of empathy and kindness, and continue to spread light and love in the world.

Family will receive guests from 10:30 am - 11:30 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439) where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Inurnment with military honors will follow the service at Dayton National Cemetery.
