Mark Ivan Ashworth, age 72, of Kettering, OH passed away Tuesday April 30, 2013.
Mark was born in Dayton on November 26, 1940 to the late Ivan & Regina (Deck) Ashworth.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary (Zechar) Ashworth.
Mark is survived by his wife, Judy Ashworth; children, Michael Ashworth and Michelle (Brian) Treaster; daughter-in-law, Melanie Ashworth; grandchildren, Corey and Caleigh Ashworth, David, Paul, and Jacob Treaster; brothers, Tom (Barbara) Ashworth and Philip (Katie) Ashworth; mother-in-law, Betty Zechar; brother-in-law, John Zechar; and many other relatives and friends.
He was an active member of Fairhaven Church and a vital part of the Dayton music community for many years. Mark was a proud member of The Ohio State University Marching Band and marched with the Alumni Band for several years until his health made it impossible for him to participate.
A memorial service will be held Monday May 6, 2013 at 4 pm at the Fairhaven Church, Centerville, OH. Friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are by the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), Kettering, OH.
Donations may be made in Mark's memory to the Script Ohio Club (PO Box 14769, Columbus, Ohio 43214).
