Marion Stephany Falvey was born October 8, 1926 in Wellesley, Massachusetts and passed away April 11, 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. Raised in West Newton, Massachusetts, she graduated from West Newton High School. Marion and Frank Falvey were married in June 1951. Marion lived in Kettering, Ohio since 1961.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, as well as her parents George Tobin and Mary O'Brien Tobin, her twin brother George and her brother Joe. Marion is survived by her children, Mary (Frank) Ifantiedes, Tom (Leslie) Falvey, and Patie (Chuck) Holmes; grandchildren Stacy (Heath) Underwood, and Francie (Josh) Shuttleworth; and great grandchildren Sophia and Caroline Underwood and Jonah Shuttleworth. She leaves behind many good friends.
Marion worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, as well as Raggedy Ann and Andy Nursery School. She was a charter member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kettering, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and on the Bereavement Committee. She also served on the Board of Trustees and was Chairperson of the Finance Committee of the Hithergreen Senior Center, and did volunteer work for the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, gardening, golf, reading, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Charles Borromeo on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 10:30 am. Friends may call at the church during the hour before the service. She will be buried at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
Marion supported many charities during her lifetime. She'd have been honored to be remembered with donations to Hospice of Dayton.
