SAMPSON, Marion A. "Sam", age 87, of Dayton, died Monday, July 3, 2006. He was born October 3, 1918 in South Charleston, West Virginia, the son of the late Silas P. and Dolly M. (Woodrum) Sampson. He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association Chapter 7, V.F.W. Post 2800, and retired from the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Chin Sampson; 5 daughters and sons-in-law, Carla Sue Sampson, Margaret and Steve Barlage, Nancy and Ronnie Lowe, Marian and Bill Drees, and Mary and Mike Sparks; 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Crowder; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and JoAnn Sampson; one sister-in-law, Ida Sampson. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Earl, and James Sampson. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd.) with Brother David Laney officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Dayton VA Hospice or V.F.W. Post 2800.
