KIBLER, Marion E."Dutch," age 88, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, as result of an accident. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy & Erma; 3 brothers, Everett, Gerald, and Wendall, and granddaughter, Addie.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; daughters, Debbie Speer (John) Ware of Redington Beach, FL, and Luanne (Frank) Atkins of Dublin, OH; grandchildren, Christi and Tim Atkins; great granddaughter, Isabelle Atkins; sisters, Margaret Cummings and Pat Hendricks; sister-in-law, Eileen Kibler, as well as several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Dutch was a WWII U.S. Army veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the Battle of the Bulge. Additionally, he was recognized for his valiant service with numerous medals including the Bronze Star for combat infantry. He served on the Board of Directors of Be-Am-Co, Inc., of Beavercreek for 45 years and worked as a proofreader, retiring from Standard Register Co. in 1984. Dutch was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church for more than 50 years and had a profound love of God and country. He led a very full life participating in sports and gardening - spending his retirement years actively involved in the Kettering and Beavercreek Sr. Centers. His eye for detail and competitive spirit made him a formidable pool player until his death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
