Marilyn Olinger

OLINGER, Marilyn "Corky" age 78 of Centerville passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Bethany Village. Corky played shortstop for the Grand Rapids Chicks from 1948-1953, having a career batting average of .220 over the course of 599 games in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Maude Olinger and her sister, Betty Holland. She is survived by her half-sister, Shirley Olinger; dear friend, Lori Jones; special friends, Arlene (Tommie) Stevens and Dee Dee Fahrney. A special thanks for loving care given by Pam Lamb and Cascade Nurses & Aides of Bethany Village. If desired, donations in Corky's memory may be given to Hospice of Dayton or to the Bethany Village Benevolent Fund, 6430 Inner Mission Way, Centerville, OH 45459. A funeral service will be held beginning at 5:00PM TODAY, THURSDAY, JULY 6th at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd.), after which visitation will continue until 7:00 pm.
