Marilyn Lee Mardis

Marilyn Lee Mardis, age 82, of Xenia, passed away November 10, 2023. Marilyn was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 30, 1941 to the late Bernice and Norbert Strehle.

Marilyn retired from Greene County District Library. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, card club, crossword puzzles and going to festivals. Marilyn loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Shearl "Buck" Mardis, who passed away on September 15, 2023.

She is survived by her children, Edward (Kelly) Mardis, Kathleen (Steven) Pain and Bryan (Debra) Mardis; grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Meilinger, Alex Mardis, Hillary Mardis and Brynna Mardis; great-grandson, Ethan Meilinger; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Bob) Stavick and Betty Zimmerman; as well as many close neighbors and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to the Donate Life America (Donate Life America, 5516 Falmouth Street, Suite 302, Richmond, VA 23230). Marilyn was a 12 year survivor of a liver transplant.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek), where funeral services will begin at 11:00am. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
