Marilyn I. Clark

Marilyn Irene Clark, née Lilly, 90, passed away in the early morning of January 18, 2025, at Fairmont Senior Living. Marilyn was born to James and Dollie Lilly on December 8,1934, in Dayton, Ohio. Marilyn attended Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton and continued her learning through life experiences alongside family and friends. Marilyn married Carl Lawrence Clark, of Dayton, in 1953. She was a loving wife who accompanied Carl on many travels across the United States. She loved talking with people, and her laugh would bring a smile to anyone's face. She always laughed the loudest at Carl's jokes and was known to throw a little sass in there once and a while herself. Marilyn's ultimate joy was raising their two children, Carla Merical (Kim) and Harold Clark (Teri). Marilyn was well-known for adoring children and being an excellent babysitter for family and friends. She was an active grandparent, ready to play games and take walks to the library. Carl and Marilyn especially loved taking their grandchildren on small adventures to places like Poor Farmers Campgrounds and Young's Jersey Dairy. 

A longtime resident of Dayton, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl L. Clark, her siblings, Harold Lilly, Edward Lilly, Emerson Lilly, Betty Jeane Shively, Ernie Lilly and parents, Dollie and James Lilly. She is survived by her children, Carla Merical (Kim) of Bellbrook, and Harold Clark (Teri) of Dayton; her grandchildren, Ben Clark, Ethan Clark (Jessica), and Kyle Merical (Kasie); and one great-grandchild, Alexandra Clark. 

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Kettering Chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Bivd, Kettering, OH 45439. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. The burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Day City Hospice, 7601 Paragon Rd. Ste 201, Dayton, OH 45459.
