Marie Tackett

Marie Tackett, age 80, passed away on September 13, 2022. She was born in Clay County, KY on March 27, 1942 to the late Kelly Burns and Florence Abner. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her brother Delbert (Glenda) Burns; daughter, Julie Marie; husbands: Wayne Tackett and James Crews; and son in law: Rodney Shumway.

Marie is survived by her children: Roxanne Shumway, Rhonda (Noah) Garrett, and Wayne Tackett; grandchildren: Miranda (Josh) Ryder-Miller, Rodney (Savannah Jones) Shumway, Josey Trupp, and Forrest (Sofia) Trupp; great-grandchildren: Jediah, Landon, Jolena, Journey, and Lincoln; niece: Lori (Hal) Quest; nephew: Jeff (Suzanne) Burns; and many other relatives and friends.

Marie enjoyed dancing and listening to country music, Motown, and hard rock. Her favorite artists were Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Loretta Lynn, and Bill Monroe. She was the life of the party anywhere she went. She was a hard worker and was employed by Crossroads Tool and Die for over 30 years. Marie loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren- they were the greatest joy of her life.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton where a funeral service will immediately follow. Marie will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery.
