SHANESY, Marie nee Sprauer age 83 passed away peacefully September 11, 2011 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease for 16 years.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 53 years, Charles P. Shanesy, JR.; parents, Mary Margaret and William Joseph Sprauer; brothers, Roland, Joseph, and William; and sister, Margaret Ann.
She is survived by daughter, Colleen (Ken) Nartker, son, Charles P. (Wendy) Shanesy III; grandchildren, Leslie, Michael, Brennan, Keeley, and Mary Caitlin; brother, Charles; sisters, Eileen and Louise; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She worked for 20 years at Gold Circle Department Store. Faith and family were most important to her, along with her devotion to St. Jude and the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed riverboat casinos and spending time with her grandchildren. No more shaking for mom, may she truly rest in peace.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, 411 E. Second Street. The family will receive friends Wednesday September, 14, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek, 3380 Dayton-Xenia RD.
