Marie Landers

Ruth Marie Landers of Kettering, OH died January 5, 2025 peacefully at her home. Marie was born September 23, 1937 in Beaverdam, OH, the daughter of the late William and Pauline Downing. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Landers and her grandsons Nick Yantis and Andrew Cameron.

Marie is survived by her five children: Joe (Theresa) Landers of Tipp City, Jim (Sherri) Landers of Vandalia, Cindy (Vince) Cameron of Centerville, Lisa (John) Corbean of Oakwood and Judy (Frank) Stauble of Beavercreeek. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her role as a grandmother. Marie's grandchildren - Tiffany, Christina and Sydney Corbean, Nathaniel and Benjamin Cameron, Shelby Flohr, Dustin Young, Ashley Caillouet  , Michael and Megan Stauble and Kyle Landers and great grandchildren Harper, Hunter, Archer and Addison  - were her pride and joy. She adored them dearly and delighted in their accomplishments. 

Marie had a unique gift for making everyone feel special. She welcomed countless bonus grandchildren into her life - all of whom affectionately referred to her as "Grammy". Her home was a haven of love, laughter and special memories.

A woman of deep faith and unwavering kindness, Marie touched the lives of all who knew her. She had an extraordinary ability to see the beauty in the world and inspire others to do the same. Whether it was through her warm smile, her hearty laughter or her delicious home-cooked meals, she created an atmosphere of love that will always be remembered. 

As we celebrate the life of Marie Landers, let us remember her resilience, her compassion and her boundless love for those around her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Marie's memory through acts of kindness and love in your own lives, just as she did so beautifully during her time with us. 

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Be Hope Church, 1850 N Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432. Visitation will be held the night prior on January 14, 2025,  from 5 to 8 at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. Marie will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
