Marianna L Moore

July 3, 1932 — May 31, 2022

Marianna (Mari) Moore of Centerville, Ohio died peacefully on May 31, 2022 at the age of 89.

She was raised in Dayton, Ohio by her aunt and uncle and graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School. She proudly remembered her first job working as a secretary in the patent office of Frigidaire. She felt fortunate to have had good friends that she met in elementary school and stayed close with throughout her life.

In 1954, she married the love of her life and her soulmate, Lawrence. Together, Mari and Larry dedicated themselves to each other, their family, and friends, old and new. In addition, they shared a love of travel. With their two daughters they travelled extensively, with travel trailer in tow, throughout much of the United States. After retirement they enjoyed visiting Europe, wintering in Southern California and a wonderful trip to Alaska by motorhome along the Great Alaskan Highway.

After her two daughters were of school age, Mari began working for the Centerville City Schools, retiring as secretary of Cline Elementary School.
Mari was also a lifelong sports fan. She followed the Dayton Indians when she was younger and enjoyed watching and rooting for Dayton Flyers basketball and Dayton Dragons and Cincinnati Reds baseball.

A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with them individually and in family gatherings. She also was committed to supporting and encouraging them in any way she could. In recent years, she found joy in her great-granddaughter.

Marianna was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence and aunt and uncle, Ada and David Webster. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Lawrence) Wassell and Marsha (William) Wright; grandchildren Heather (Joseph) Dyer, Christopher Wright and Benjamin (Kendra) Wright; and great-granddaughter Kaleigh Dyer.
