Marian J. Bowles
Age 86, of Dayton, passed on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at her home after her battle with congestive heart failure.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Rev. George E. Bowles, in 1998.

Marian is survived by three sons, Robert, James, and Steven & his wife, Terry; and by three grandchildren, Michelle & her husband, Mike Scott, Todd Bowles and Brooke Bowles.

She was born in Onaway, Michigan; and graduated from Western Michigan University. She and her husband came to Dayton in 1952 to serve at Grace United Methodist Church where Marian was a faithful member for 56 years. She served in many capacities as a minister's wife and will be remembered for her work with the children's choirs. She was also active with Grace UMW, the Homebuilders Sunday School Class, the Grace Prayer Group and many other ministries. Marian retired from Dayton Public Schools with over 20 years of service as a music teacher.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday (7/26) at Grace UMC, 1001 Harvard Blvd @ Salem Ave. The family will be receiving friends in the church parlor following services.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that contributions be made in memory of Marian to either the Grace Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
