Marian "Jean" Dominick, 80, of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday November 29, 2021.
Marian was born in Maxton, NC on August 9, 1941. She retired from Dayton Power and Light (DPL) after 30 years of service. She was a graduate of White Plains High School, NY and Sinclair Community College.
She is proceeded in death by her mother, Queen Esther and stepfather, Elijah Johnson; brother William Robinson and sisters Mary Elaine (Robinson) Bailey and Gwenivere Robinson. Surviving family includes her loving husband Melvin Dominick; children Keith Mitchell (Marcella) Sheryl Johnson, and stepson Terrence Dominick; grandchildren William Lamont Sr., Darin Mitchell (Natsanet), Emery Mitchell; great grandchildren William Lamont Jr., Emanuel Brown, Emery Elias Mitchell Jr., Eldanah and Emunah Mitchell; siblings Raymond Robinson(Katrina), Nancy Perry (David), Barbara Walker, Robert Robinson (Betty Jean), Paulette Robinson, Doris Robinson; sisters-in-law Constance Robinson, Rosealee Bradley; special nephews Shawn L. Robinson, Dexter Bailey, and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Marian had a passion for reading, shopping, cooking, working puzzles and word search. She loved keeping up with current world events. Her home was a beacon for those in need. She loved to travel and her favorite mode of transportation was Amtrak. One of her fondest memories was a trip she took by train to California to see her grandsons.
Jean was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother and will be deeply missed.
Family will greet friends from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on December 9, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439, where the funeral will begin at 1:00 pm. Cremation will follow after the service,
