Maria C. Triolo, born on October 6, 1951, in Corleone, Sicily, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Maria’s life was a tapestry woven with compassion, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to helping others.
Maria dedicated over three decades to the field of nursing. As a retired Psychiatric RN and Crisis Intervention Specialist at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, she touched countless lives with her insightful care and genuine warmth. Maria also served as a telephone triage RN for the VA, sharing her expertise and empathetic approach with veterans. Her passion for nursing led her to impart her knowledge as a teacher at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine, where she inspired the next generation of caregivers
Maria's academic journey was both impressive and commendable. She graduated from St. Joseph By The Sea High School in Staten Island, New York, before earning her Registered Nurse degree from Upper Valley Joint Vocational School District. Maria furthered her education at Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, where she excelled as an honors student and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
A beloved friend and family member, Maria was known for her wonderful smile and contagious laugh, which could light up any room. Her selfless nature shone brightly as she continually put the needs of others before her own, never knowing a stranger and always willing to lend a helping hand. Cooking was one of her many cherished hobbies, and she took great joy in preparing meals for her friends and family, alongside a love for riding her motorcycle, spending time with friends, target practice, and traveling to watch the ocean.
Maria leaves behind a cherished network of family and friends. She is survived by her best friend, Despina Costandinidis, her siblings Peter Triolo, Nino Triolo, Mario Triolo, Joe Triolo, Frank (Gail) Triolo, Jerry (Bonnie) Triolo, and her niece, Jean Marie Triolo, along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Virginia Triolo; her close friend, Peggy Olsen; and her sisters, Jennie Triolo and Jennie Paternostro.
Maria's legacy of love, generosity, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, as the ripples of her kindness continue to touch lives for years to come.
